I get 3-5 FPS with the occasional screen freeze every 3-5 minutes that actually warps me to various places.

FPS is important. The higher FPS I have the better I play. Bet it works that way with anyone...

so what's the point?

100% correct bub. these lights that we use to illuminate class rooms and our homes flicker on and off at about 90 times per second b/c it is powered by AC current. we dont notice that, why would we notice 300 fps?

Human eyes can't see above 72 frames/second. If you have more though, you DO get more up to date information, which makes it easier to lead.

try changing ur resolution to 640 x 480 and have the screen refresh rate at 72. it works with me. i can record at ALL high settings including sound eax and get 40 fps now instead of 20 like i used to. so the screen refresh rate improved my gaming performance. so give it a try

if ur recording for clips why would u record in low settings and i was letting the other members that it is a good setting . I was giving an example like me playing in all high settings, now with low settings it will be even more effective

add -use11 to targets. This uses 1.1 texture maps instead of 2.0 wich is halos default, you wont notice and graphical change at all, but it uses older shaders and your video card likes it!
