Most of that stuff has to deal with texture packs to make the game look better or, with the 64-bit edition, to make it run better with these higher quality texture packs.

The overall update to the game is as simple as I can make it b/c those files I upload are the updated game. All you really have to do download the file, extract, then move that lastlogin file. Far far simpler than most cracked game updates.

Minecraft 1.7.3 Update

Just a quick client update that fixes some errors. There is no need to update your texture packs as they will work fine with this version. As always, copy your lastlogin file over.

Minecraft server updated to v1.8.1


Slightly different install with this one. The MinecraftSP.exe is what you will use to launch MC now:
1. Copy the "lastlogin" file from your "\_minecraft beta 1.X n00b edition\" folder into your .minecraft folder (in appdata/romaning). Easy way to find this folder is to launch your current MC, go into texture packs, and then "open texture packs folder".
2. Open up the zip file and you will see two files: MinecraftSP.exe & minecraft.jar.
3. Run MinecraftSP.exe, let it update, and then close it.
4*. Copy the minecraft.jar from the zip into \.minecraft\bin
5*. Run the MinecraftSP.exe launcher and play MC
*Steps 4 and 5 are for those using the custom texture packs.
