Hello fellow survivors,

As promised, 1.7.7 will be one of the biggest updates Origins has ever seen. In addition to that, each patch and update in the future will not only focus on bug fixes and improvements but will also bring you never before seen mechanics and gameplay improvements, and will continue to raise the standards to a completely new level of gameplay.

What if all (known) map bugs are now completely fixed?

Imagine that you are now able to climb on top of most of the Buildings in Taviana ( all working ladders )

Imagine that some roofs of buildings now have secret stashes of rare weapons and items, and new things to discover!

Imagine that by coincidence you find a secret door leading to underground cave or building, wait..WTF is this inside! Hold on! Is thing alive?

Wait.. Imagine if you discover dark places with dark history behind them?

IMAGINE NO MORE!!!!! Welcome to Novistrana.

Inspired by locations in Will Smith's award winning movie “ I am Legend “ ( customized, of course, with the look and feel of it's former soviet union equivalent ) , we are proud to introduce our latest additions to Taviana , its neighboring country .. The Republic of Novistrana.

A mere 20 Km away from the borders of Taviana, connected by cross country highways, security checkpoints and new bridges, you can travel to the Republic of Novistrana, a 265 km2 open world (as big as Cherno). Novistrana is a post-Soviet state that is another victim country hit by the presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population (you might want to visit Professor Vlad's Survivors Camp, he just used his new vaccination to cure them of the infection)

With many new locations to explore, secrets to be found, newly designed (and enterable) buildings, get ready to find yourself involved in countless WTF moments exposing you to the extreme limits of fear and shock. Yes, visit the new country at your own risk....

With many new additions and dark mysteries and twists to the gameplay, surviving alone will be much harder and even bandits may reconsider their path. Will you still Kill on sight to steal others food and gear or will you ask other survivors to join you and help you in your journey?



Question #1: is this a previous map imported and customized or a completely new land mass??
We are building on the original Taviana, Novistrana is built from scratch as a new addition to the existing map, while we are slowly reworking the original Taviana to a more post apocalyptic environment. we focused on design of Novistrana since the beginning in a post apocalyptic setup, we had the direction we want to take from the start which made it easier than re-doing or reworking it .

Question #2: What new stronghold levels (numbers and functions) are you adding??
We will release info about this in the release notes.

Question #3: What is being changed about the humanity / leveling system?
Same as the above, We will release info about this in the release notes, however the heros leveling system is being re-balanced.

Interview with Kinghunt (Commander and chief on Origins 1.7.7)

Things that I heard mentioned in the video:
  • Radios
  • Handcuffs
  • Tranquilizers
  • More silenced weapons
  • A surrender option that will make you kneel down. You can then be tied up or tranquilized. If you have a knife in your inventory, you can try to cut yourself free. All of this is an option in-game.
  • I am Legend and Bioshock inspirations
  • @11:40 = The flying fortress is not an AI controlled object like the NPC helicopters. It is completely player controlled. It is a fixable vehicle that requires a manual and must be repaired. Once repaired, it can take over Salvation Island pretty easily.
    1. You can live entirely in this flying fortress....Sleep, park vehicles, store items, and walk around.
    2. There will be multiple of these in-game and they can be taken down.
    3. There are mechanisms where you can "lock" the fortress down.
    4. Sector B will have items that can enable you to take over the fortress.
  • Expansion of the building options and new alternatives for smaller version camps for those who do not like to build.
  • A "mega bandit" will have a near-death option where sometimes your prior deeds will come back to haunt you.

Hello fellow Survivors,

Good news,

Once again we are innovating in the way Origins is played, introducing new Firsts to the game with OriConstruct 0.7 technology.

OriConstruct is a new game mechanic that allows survivors to find and salvage and fix construction vehicles from the world to utilize in constructing and building new buildings and objects.


The new Building system does not effect the current building system utilized in origins which is used to build housing and strongholds, However this new system will effect all new building and mega structures that will be introduced in the next updates as Origins keeps on progressing.

In 1.7.7 you are able to build new fortifications around your houses and camps , different types and walls, new blue prints for upgradable watch towers etc etc .

Use the new Excavator to build strong bullet absorbing Mud fences around your houses or permanently remove your opponents tents.The Excavator can be used as a construction or destruction terror machine ! , rule the streets by smashing opponents heads with its metal arm.


Where the excavator can be found ?
It is a rare spawn that can be found in the rural areas of the Republic of Novistrana.


How does it operate ?
After fixing it, the Excavator can be driven by one survivor , but to operate it you will need some one sitting in the Operator seat. ( Or you will need to keep switching seats )


How to build with it :
It is a recommended 2 man operation ( Driver and operator ) - During 1.7.7 we are releasing several new things to build, however in this update the excavator is mainly used to building / removing own Mud fortifications and or permanently remove own or enemies tents.


In future builds excavators and bulldozers can be used to destroy own houses.


Both Origins Guard Alpha and Origins 1.7.7 are expected to be released during next week.
