It is an alpha and there will be a plethera of bugs. However, this is going to be kind of like Minecraft. That means that if you buy right now, you'll have access to the complete version whenever it comes out. It also means that 29.99 is probably the lowest price you'll see the game priced at for a long time.

Yes he's already stated that he will follow the minecraft model. The price will definitely increase as production follows.
